This WordPress site is meant to show off a small subset of my skills. It runs on Linux with Apache, MariaDB and PHP: a basic LAMP stack. It’s hosted on a virtual machine rented from Vultr.com with CentOS 7 installed. I installed and configured the necessary software to host this site and added some content.
I understand incident and change management and have acquired my ITIL Foundation certificate. I’ve done incident management for the USDA in 2018/2019. I’ve held several positions requiring ticket management and using a ticket management system including BMC’s Remedy.
I’ve been working with IP networks and Linux as a server since about 1998 when I was a network administrator for a small ISP in Leesville La. I’ve implemented solutions utilizing linux for authentication, virtualization, email, mass faxing, VOIP, automation and integrated voice response systems. I am very comfortable with the command line, remote administration and troubleshooting. I have acquired CompTIA’s Server+ and Linux+ certificates as well as the Linux Professional Institute LPIC-1.
I have more experience with the older versions of Windows server. I am very familiar with RDP and remote administration of Windows servers. I am very comfortable with Active Directory, batch scripts, AT for automation and can create and utilize powershell scripts as well.
My troubleshooting skills with networks, Linux and Windows are excellent. I am very good at finding out what is happening, what caused it and how to avoid the same scenario in the future. I am well versed with basic network troubleshooting tools like ifconfig, ipconfig, ping, traceroute and tracert as well as network and port scanners like nmap and Ethereal.
